Tri-Valley Haven’s Volunteer Program provides satisfaction and fulfillment. Volunteering your time can be one of the best gifts you ever give to yourself. The Haven thrives on its diverse mix of volunteers who work selflessly and tirelessly to offer a kind word, a helping hand or a warm hug. Whether you are fielding calls on the crisis line, advocating for survivors, taking care of children, distributing food or working at the Thrift Store, you are helping us build a world without poverty and violence.
Tri-Valley Haven’s Volunteer opportunities include:
Advocacy – At Tri-Valley Haven, our core mission is to intervene crises and advocate for survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Homelessness. You can choose to field calls on the Crisis Line, be a part of SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) or assist at the Legal Clinic. You will provide in-person or phone support to clients seeking help and advice. All volunteers are required to undergo an intensive 70-hr training that is facilitated by trained staff and agency partners. We do ask for a volunteering commitment of at least one shift per month.
Office work, Food Pantry and Thrift Store – Love sorting, labeling, bagging and displaying? You might be our next organizing superstar. And if interacting with people is your superpower, you will find plenty of opportunities for that as well.
Teen Volunteers – Whether you have a passion for public service or need hours for school, we welcome teen volunteers and youth groups (16 and over only) at the food pantry and thrift store.
Special Events – If volunteering regularly is not possible for you, pitch in at our special events like Pace for Peace, Mony Nop Turkey Drop, Gingerbread house, Holiday distribution and other events.

Volunteering may be among the hardest work you’ll ever do. But few other forms of volunteering will give you as much satisfaction.
Volunteering at the Haven takes many shapes, but every job makes a critical contribution to our mission of creating homes safe from abuse, and building a world without violence. We help people in need to heal and re-grow; is there a more important calling?
