Volunteer

Tri-Valley Haven’s Volunteer Program provides satisfaction and fulfillment. Volunteering your time can be one of the best gifts you ever give to yourself. The Haven thrives on its diverse mix of volunteers who work selflessly and tirelessly to offer a kind word, a helping hand or a warm hug. Whether you are fielding calls on the crisis line, advocating for survivors, taking care of children, distributing food or working at the Thrift Store, you are helping us build a world without poverty and violence.

Advocacy

Our core mission is to advocate for survivors of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Homelessness. You can choose to field calls on the Crisis Line, be a part of SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) or assist at the Legal Clinic. All volunteers are required to undergo an intensive 70-hr training that is facilitated by trained staff. At least one shift per month is required.

Twice per year, Tri-Valley Haven facilitates an intensive 70-hour advocacy training online. All incoming DV and SA advocates must undergo this training. If you are interested in becoming an advocate,  please click here to fill out a form.

Applications for Spring 2024 are now open.

Food Pantry and Thrift Store

Love sorting, labeling, bagging and displaying? You might be our next organizing superstar! Plus, if interacting with people is your superpower, you will find plenty of opportunities for that as well. Both are conveniently located right next to each other on North Livermore Avenue.

You do not need to attend the 70 hour trainings for these volunteer roles.

Special Events

If volunteering regularly is not possible for you, pitch in at our special events like Pace for Peace, Mony Nop Turkey Drop, Gingerbread house, Holiday distribution and other events.

Teen Volunteers

Whether you have a passion for public service or need hours for school, we welcome teen volunteers and youth groups (16 and over only) at the food pantry and thrift store all year round.
